Just when I think I have all the jewelry I could ever want, I discover something I didn’t know I wanted. (To be clear: This is about wanting, not needing, but the wanting always feels like needing.) The necklace I’m wearing in this photo is by Matilde Poulat, one of the great designers of the Mexican silver renaissance of the 30s, 40s and 50s, who signed her pieces MATL. Her work is a new obsession of mine, and like all my jewelry obsessions, it brings me into contact with people who are similarly obsessed, and happy to share their knowledge and experience.
Jewelry lovers are a community. Each piece we collect has a story behind it. I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.
Lovely! Wear it in good health!
